JIM SALISBURY is a telecommunications expert with over 30 years’ experience in the industry. Jim joined Datanet International from Telecom Eireann (Eircom), as an telecommunications consultant. As such, he was co-author of a number of reports on the national telecommunications infrastructure for Forfas & IDA Ireland. He also carried out reviews of IT strategy in both the public and private sector. In addition, he has assisted several start-up businesses in the telecommunications sector.
Jim worked with the Department of Posts and Telegraphs in network planning, design, construction and equipment installation programmes. He was appointed as Internal Communications Manager on the inception of Telecom Eireann. Shortly after, he was appointed as Division Head for Staff and Management Development. He fulfilled this function for four years, before taking up the role of Division Head for Voice and Datacommunications Marketing. This role embraced the marketing of the PSTN, the new leased line network (DASSNET), and the X25 packet service (Eirpac).
He has also been involved in the design and delivery of telecommunications training programmes to the major network operators and is an associate faculty member of the Irish Management Institute.
Jim has been involved with Woodgrange Technologies since the inception of The Irish Times Business 2000 and Careers World products, two leading multi- media Irish educational resources. He has also developed and delivered a range of telecommunications training courses.

Jim is an Engineering Graduate from UCD & has a Master of Science in Management from Trinity College Dublin. He also has a Diploma in Public Administration & Diploma in Managerial Finance
