DAVID CAMPBELL first joined Datanet International from AT&T as a telecommunications consultant. Prior to this, he joined Telecom Eireann (Eircom) in 1982 on an Engineering Scholarship. He worked with Telecom until 1991, in middle and senior management positions. In 1988 he was the project manager for the implementation of DASSNET, Ireland’s first digital leased line network. The installation of this network meant that, for the first time, Irish telecomms users could avail of affordable services with bandwidths of up to 2Mb/s. On completion of the implementation, he led the successful commercial launch of the new DASSNET services.
David's experience with Datanet includes projects ranging from network design, project management, procurement, as well as board-level strategic studies.
He was co-author of the Datanet report produced for the IDA on the future of Telecommunications in Ireland, advised Esat Telecom regarding its entry into the Irish data and broadband market and has assisted Irish Life and Permanent with the implementation of its core broadband network covering Dublin, Cork and Dundalk.
In recent years, David has also been involved with Woodgrange Technologies, leading the development of innovative telecomms e-learning products.
Through his work David has gained much experience in telecommunications network design, data network implementation, LAN technologies, and voice & data multiplexing. He has provided consultancy services in the following sectors

David is an Honours Graduate in Electrical Engineering from University College Dublin (Ireland).
